Read About Sapca

The Sports and Play Construction Association (SAPCA) is the UK trade association for the sports and play construction industry. It represents its over 200 members alongside the wider industry to raise the standards in the design, construction and maintenance of facilities across the UK.

SAPCA membership is a badge of quality due to the rigorous entry requirements, the commitment to build to the Association’s Codes of Practice and agreement to abide with financial and professional standards. For these reasons SAPCA is a trusted partner to a wide variety of sporting bodies, associations and funding bodies, helping to set standards and create collaboration across the sector.

The SAPCA Board is made up of respected industry voices, sports governing body representatives and independent members. It upholds the principles of the Association and provides support for the executive. SAPCA is seeking to add to its Board of Directors with the appointment of an Independent Non Executive Board Member. SAPCA is interested to hear from all parties to believe they have the strategic vision and drive to add to the long term success of the association. Particularly of interest would be candidates able to represent the voice of end users of facilities or to deepen the connections with sports governing bodies.

SAPCA is is committed to becoming a more diverse and inclusive organisation to bring new and different perspectives to our work. So that we can more closely reflect UK society, we particularly encourage applications from individuals within groups which are currently underrepresented within our association, which includes candidates from ethnically diverse communities, candidates with a disability, candidates from the LBTQ community or from under served communities.

Board meetings are held 4 times a year with a variety of sub-groups also meeting on a regular basis. The role is voluntary with reasonable expenses being reimbursed.

Board meetings are currently held on a face-to-face basis they are currently held at the SAPCA offices in Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.

In the first instance interested parties should email richard@sapca.org.uk to arrange an initial discussion.
