About The Role
Integrating padel into the LTA in 2019 was the first step in what we hope will be a bright future for padel. It provided an immediate platform to facilitate the organic growth of the sport, with tennis venues throughout Great Britain already exploring the potential opportunities it can bring to a facility.
Following this initial growth, we are now at a point where we can start to focus on player development and a performance pathway.
The Padel Team‘s 5-year performance aspirational goals are:
- To develop a domestic framework that supports nationally ranked players in a variety of categories.
- To develop a set of players that can represent Great Britain at the highest level of the professional game.
Reporting to the Head of Padel the Padel Performance Manager will be responsible for oversight of the development programme of LTA Supported Padel players to assist them in reaching the elite end of the game. They will also lead and manage National Team activity, liaising with National Coaches in a variety of categories, from juniors to seniors. The Padel Performance Manager will also take a lead role in developing a domestic framework of training venues, LTA led training activity and competitions to support younger, emerging talent now and into the future. A key aspect of the role will be to support key performance Padel training venues around the country to deliver talent activity, e.g., talent identification and development, developing a performance workforce.
The LTA, through its vision “Tennis Opened up”, is committed to creating a diverse environment where all colleagues feel included and a strong sense of belonging. We are proud to actively invite applications from all candidates who meet the essential criteria and are able to work in the UK, and we commit that everyone will receive equal consideration for employment irrespective of your disability, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity status, or age.
