Five bespoke, artificial turf tennis court installations

Installation of five bespoke, artificial turf tennis courts

The installation of five new bespoke artificial turf tennis courts at Hutton Rudby Tennis Club in North Yorkshire stood out due to the sheer scale of the project, demonstrating the benefit of collaboration between SAPCA members to deliver a successful end result.

Synthetic Turf Management (STM) were appointed to deliver the project at a club where the existing surface had deteriorated over time. The surface had lost its once thriving colours and contaminants had mounted up, resulting in drainage problems. The courts were becoming a hazard and the club opted for a full resurface.

Hutton Rudby Tennis Club wanted something to attract additional members to the facility and to encourage more individuals from the local area to take up this ever growing sport. That’s why it was important to make sure that the courts were optimised and allowed every player to reach their full performance.

To ensure the perfect playing surface, Synthetic Turf Management had the expert guidance of Labosport to fully test the baseworks before any carpet was installed. Using TigerTurf Advantage Pro, an ITF approved product using the latest in synthetic turf technology, enabled the creation of a playing surface suitable for the highest standard of tennis.

The new courts were complemented with a new fence line and gates thanks to fellow SAPCA member B&L Fencing, who Synthetic Turf Management worked closely with throughout the project.
