Rosehill TPV® Rubber Granules Resist the Effects of Sun's Ultraviolet Radiation

Since 2005 Rosehill Sports & Play has been manufacturing Rosehill TPV® rubber granules at its high-capacity factory in Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire. Specifically designed for the sports and play surfacing sectors, Rosehill TPV®’s unique chemistry, high-quality raw materials and advanced manufacturing processes ensure consistent and vibrant coloured granules

One of the many benefits of Rosehill TPV® rubber granules is its resistance to the fading effects caused by the sun’s ultraviolet radiation. This characteristic served the product well when Australasia – a region with more solar coverage per square metre than any other in the world – needed a solution for its coloured wetpour safety surfaces in the play sector.

Operators in the sector turned to the British manufacturer and the results have been remarkable. Through Rosehill Sports & Play’s Australian partner, Surface Designs, hundreds of playgrounds, schools, sports venues and childcare centres down-under have benefited from designs featuring some of the 22 vibrant colours in the range.

Rosehill TPV® has been used in a range of projects – from an Adventure Playground and Bike Training Circuit at Kempt Field in Hurstville, to an outdoor gym at Berry Park in Bathurst (both in New South Wales). As well as schools and playgrounds, the product is now widely being used at parks, sports facilities and private residences.

The supply of Rosehill TPV® rubber granules into the Australian play sector has developed into a multi-million-pound export business for the company over the past few years – and it continues to grow year on year.

Rosehill TPV® is a great example of a British designed, developed and manufactured product that stands the heat of the hot Australian sun – and still looks great and performs fantastically well for years and years. It was developed by Rosehill Polymers, a world leading expert in applied polymer technology, as a more robust and versatile alternative to the standard EPDM products.

With its advanced chemistry and more than 20 standard colours, it delivers the highest level of surface performance for competition and training. It also offers the ideal combination of durability and elasticity, providing safe surfaces that have been fully tested to exacting international standards that won’t embrittle or whiten, while retaining its form with superior UV stability.

Andy Lovell, Business Manager at Rosehill Sports & Play, said: “Overseas markets represent a significant part of what we do.

“More than half of all the materials we manufacture are exported and we continue to see year on year growth. Demand is strong across both the sports and play sectors, whether its World Athletics certified running track systems to Abu Dhabi, or Rosehill TPV® rubber granules to the USA, Russia and Australia.

“This export success has been recognised by the Department for International Trade who have named Rosehill Sports & Play as an Export Champion.”
