gcp is an employee-owned chartered architectural practice and energy consultancy based in Bristol.
Designing places for recreation is one of the most inspirational things we do. From humble beginnings delivering a new sports hall for Writhlington School in the 1990s, to our current work at Headingley Stadium, gcp has constantly been active in the sport and leisure sector. Clients have included schools and colleges, local authorities, golf clubs, private leisure operators, and governing bodies for sport. We have delivered multi-sport centres, all-weather pitches, swimming pools, fitness suites and indoor cricket halls, growing our knowledge and experience with every opportunity. Our expertise has fed into the development of multiple design guidance documents for NGBs such as the ECB.
We guide our clients every step of the way, from establishing a strategic brief to design, construction and post-occupancy evaluation.
Sport and Leisure projects make significant contributions to local communities which is why we take a collaborative approach to each one, ensuring all stakeholders and relevant community groups are engaged in the design process, ultimately contributing to the delivery of facilities which the whole community can be proud of.
Through our in-house energy consultancy, we can advise our clients on the most sustainable approach to their project.
