Over many years Specialised Sports Products Ltd has developed as an experienced company in synthetic grass cleaning and maintenance. SSP Ltd was one of the first companies in the UK to recognise the need for maintenance of synthetic grass, and now supports a large client base. Contracts are undertaken throughout the UK.
Problems that can occur …
Filled synthetic grass will suffer sand compaction and contamination over time if not cleaned and maintained properly. Contaminants such as worn carpet fibre dust, ball abrasion, mud and organic matter will be washed through the surface sand and trapped. Moss and algal spores form a slime commonly known as ‘algal squidge’. The resultant dark green slime on the surface is very slippery and dangerous. A hard surface, flooding, slow drainage of the surface, green tide marks over the surface, increased and irregular ball speed and bounce bring complaints from users.
Cleaning and Maintenance options …
An obligation free inspection is carried out by SSP’s Director. Subject to acceptance of our Report and Quotation, four teams of skilled operatives are available to carry out cleaning and maintenance procedures appropriate to the condition of the Tennis Court(s), Five-a-Side, Hockey, Football or Multi-Sport Pitches.
Algal and moss killers applied to the surface prior to cleaning facilitate the process of decompaction and removal of contaminants. Carpet fibres are lifted and opened up, the infill cleaned and evenly distributed back into the system to the appropriate levels.
SSP Ltd machinery and techniques in the maintenance of synthetic grass provide economical and professional options for schools, local authorities, private court owners, and club and pitch managers.
