The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) is the membership body for the sport and leisure industry in Wales, charged with the task of leading advocacy and developing resilience across the sector.
Our purpose is to provide an independent collective voice for the sector, championing the role that it plays and it’s return on investment. The WSA also looks to build capability and good governance, ensuring the resilience of our members by supporting them to become stronger, more successful and sustainable through the provision of a wide range of business services.
Our Vision is for “A Vibrant Active, Nation“ and our Mission is to empower our members to be stronger and more successful, contributing towards a society fit for the future. We will achieve this by:
Leading Advocacy – An independent, collective voice; and Developing Resilience – Financial, organisational sustainability and Professional support, training and development.
We are not here to develop or deliver sport, that is the job of our members. We are here to strengthen and support our members – encouraging enterprise, innovation and growing potential so that we can promote prosperous and viable businesses within the sport and leisure industry in Wales.
Our Strategic Goals are to Collaborate, Develop and Promote.
The WSA also hosts the WSA Sports Industry Awards, which has become one of Wales’ must-attend events on the annual sporting calendar. The evening celebrates the success of our members in the outstanding initiatives that are delivered outside of the sporting arena in areas such as Sustainability, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Women and Girls, Social Impact, Collaboration, Welsh Language and more.
