Smith Construction are delighted to have been selected by Main Contractor, Bowmer and Kirkland following a competitive tender process, to construct a three court multi-use games area (MUGA) at Buxton School in Leytonstone, London.
Buxton School is an all-through school, providing education to children from the age of three through to sixteen. The School has undergone a multi-million-pound refurbishment, creating a state-of-the-art learning facility. The huge revamp has seen the current buildings demolished and a modern structure built in their place.
The nursery, primary and secondary forms will be housed in separate zones within one huge building, allowing for shared usage of facilities. The project includes brand-new classrooms, a dance and drama studio, sports hall and three court, multi-use games area.
Smith Construction are due to begin groundworks for the 18.5m x 37m MUGA in April and hope to have the facility completed in May.
The MUGA construction will have drainage installed, an engineered base and will be finished with an insitu shockpad and sand dressed carpet. The facility will be divided into three separate courts and line marked to allow for three games of five-a-side football to be played simultaneously.
