SAPCA member, Carrick Construction, has secured two large sports facility projects at two schools worth a combined £2 million.

Work is now underway to provide Florence MacWilliams School in Stoke and Afon Taff High School in Troed-y-Rhiw, Wales, with new sports pitches for the pupils and communities to use and enjoy.

At Florence MacWilliams, Carrick Construction – which is part of the larger STRI Group – will deliver a 3G pitch, multi-use games area (MUGA) and grass sports pitches.

At Afon Taff High School, the company will provide a new 3G artificial turf pitch and flood lighting. The pitch will meet the requirements set out by FIFA Quality and World Rugby Reg 22 and will be tested to meet requirements for the FAs 3G pitch register.

Toby Grace, Business Development Manager for Carrick Construction, said: “It is great to see investment in sports for schools. It not only betters physical health but promotes positive mental health and routine for children, these jobs are a real pleasure to work on.”
