Motspur Park was established as Fulham Football Club’s permanent Training Ground in 1999 and in the period since it has grown into a state-of-the-art sporting facility and the central location for over 150 members of staff.

Blakedown was given responsibility by Fulham F.C for the final design and implementation of the Motspur Park Training Facilities; a multi-disciplined project which included a new 5,900m² indoor floodlit training facility, a LED floodlighting to the existing natural grass main pitch, a new 70 person spectator stand to the Arena pitch, the provision of a new floodlit FIFA 2 star 3G pitch, the creation of a new overflow car park and landscaping works including acoustic barrier fencing.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho recently thanked Fulham and Slavisa Jokanovic for their hospitality.

The west London club allowed the United side to train at Craven Cottage and Motspur Park as they prepared for their FA Cup semi final with Tottenham Hotspur recently. United had played Bournemouth in a midweek fixture prior to the FA semi-final and used Motspur Park as a training base, instead of travelling back up to Manchester and then down to London again in a short space of time.

Speaking ahead of that FA Cup game, Mourinho thanked Jokanovic, saying “First of all, to thank Fulham, because they let us use the best facilities. They let us use the stadium Craven Cottage and I asked for a pitch on the training ground at Motspur Park and Jokanovic, the manager, gave me their best pitch so I have to thank Fulham and Joka for that.”
