With a century long pedigree, LTA Clubmark Accreditation and a total of ten grass and hard tennis courts on offer, Hoddesdon Lawn Tennis Club in Hertfordshire is a vital facility for many members who enjoy both the sporting and social aspects of tennis.
Recently, Hoddesdon Lawn Tennis Club opted to upgrade their hard tennis courts with new porous asphalt surfaces, contracting their maintenance partner of more than ten years, ETC Sports Surfaces Ltd, to deliver the resurfacing project in late 2018.
The surface of choice was a 6mm Ultisport porous asphalt, chosen for its suitability for all levels of play and fast drainage in wet weather.
The resurfacing project at Hoddesdon was part of a larger upgrade that has taken place between 2016 and 2018. The project began with ETC Sports Surfaces resurfacing three of the club’s full-sized grass tennis courts in 2016, before the club constructed an air dome to house the courts during winter, offering even more all-weather play options.
In 2018, ETC Sports Surfaces then returned to site to complete the new asphalt resurfacing project, delivering a service that Club Development Manager, Remi Suzan, described as “Outstanding, and delivered to the same high standards we have come to expect from ETC and their workforce.”
With the new asphalt courts now up and running, Hoddesdon Lawn Tennis Club is looking ahead to a programme packed with holiday and coaching programmes, tournaments for all levels and community and fundraising events.
