Playtop, the growing global play surfacing company, has announced its intention to develop the market in Germany for its Playtop with Nike Grind environmentally-friendly, wet-pour playground products. The company plans to cover the whole of Germany through a network of licensees, starting in the Spring of 2019.
“Our expansion into Germany marks a milestone in the growth of Playtop and we’re excited to be offering a unique product to German play specialists,” said Thomas Møller-Nielsen, Director at Playtop Licensing, “We’re lucky enough to work exclusively with Nike Grind to produce a range of eight premium coloured, impact-absorbing, wet-pour play surfaces made predominantly from recycled materials.
“We welcome the opportunity to forge new partnerships with local German companies that are experienced in selling and installing high-performance and sustainable surfacing for public and private play spaces, and are looking for partners that are interested in Playtop’s unique products for urban and provincial playgrounds across the whole of Germany.”
Nike Grind is an innovative recycled material from global sports brand Nike that reuses waste sports shoes and turns them into new products. This pioneering reuse of materials means that there is less waste and less environmental impact whilst maintaining the surface’s excellent performance characteristics.
Playtop, which is the only global Nike Grind ‘play’ partner, has seen play facilities across the world benefitting from its Nike Grind range – turning manufacturing scraps and recycled athletic footwear into high-performance playground surfaces.
“This is an enormous opportunity for a German playground installer as we look to replicate the same success we’ve had in over 50 countries around the world,” Thomas Møller-Nielsen adds “We’ve grown by offering innovative products, supported by excellent marketing and customer service and we are looking to foster mutually beneficial relationships with partners in Germany.”
