The finalists for this year’s SAPCA Awards have now been revealed, with 10 companies vying to be declared as one of five winners. The SAPCA Awards have a special significance this year, as 2022 marks the 25th anniversary of the association. The SAPCA Awards themselves are in their seventh year and have grown in size since their first edition in 2016.
The finalists and their entries for the SAPCA Awards 2022 are:
Courtstall Services
The installation of three Padel courts at the East Glos Club in Cheltenham.
FieldTurf
SuReTec, a synthetic turf yarn formed using materials from 100% recycled plastic waste.
Gerflor Flooring UK
Repurposing existing flooring used at the 2016 Island Games and using it in the refurbishment of an existing indoor tennis hall into four new netball courts at Les Ormes Sports Centre, Jersey.
Harrod Sport
Exporting successfully throughout 2021 and supplying equipment to global sporting events – including Euro 2020, the Tokyo Olympics and the World Club Cup.
Labosport
The Red Robin drone device for the assessment of natural turf sports pitches.
Replay Maintenance
Expanding its maintenance business into the growing US market and establishing a base in Northwestern US.
S&C Slatter
Development of a multi-faceted sport and recreation project at Winnersh Triangle Business Park and providing a blueprint for the office of the future – providing spaces for health and wellbeing in a workplace arena.
SPORTEX
Construction of a new 3G pitch at Gretna FC, which included the use of a re-purposed Trocellen shockpad previously taken from an existing site and stored for re-use.
TigerTurf UK and Fosse Contracts
Collaborating on a project to deliver Walkers RePlay – the first pitch of its kind in the UK using an Ecocept shockpad made from 3 million recycled crisp packets.
Verde Recreo
ActiVate, a MUGA design which can be used to transform existing spaces into sport and recreation areas within a week, providing easy-to-manage areas.
