Work has been completed on an upgrade to the 3G pitch at Sport Lancaster – the sports hub of Lancaster University.
The project included the removal and replacement of the existing pitch carpet, which has been fully recycled and reused. Security around the area has also been improved, including changes to the way users access the pitch.
The height of the existing perimeter fence has also been increased from three to six metres to prevent unauthorised access.
The improvements ensure the pitch continues to meet the specifications required for World Rugby and FIFA accreditation.
The project was the result of a partnership between several SAPCA members, including A S Sports Systems, Lano Sports, EnviroStik, Sportslabs and Sportex Recycling.
