Following the announcement of their largest project to date, Smith Construction have made fantastic progress on the Monks Brook site, in Eastleigh.
To the East side of the site, the artificial community pitches and artificial stadia pitch have been cut and filled, the ground has been stabilised using a combination of lime and cement. Drainage has been installed to all three pitches, ready to receive the stone and macadam layers.
Once all the foundation works have been completed the pitches will be surfaced with Duo Shape P+ artificial grass. A superb grass product manufactured by official FIFA preferred producers of artificial football turf, Limonta Sport. The surface has been installed at many FIFA certified venues worldwide and will provide the local community with a high-quality pitch, strong enough to withstand more than 50 playing hours a week.
Smith Construction undertook and have finished the foundation preparation works for the new pavilion. This included ground stabilisation, kerbs and edgings, drainage installation and concrete structures to withhold the steel beams for the pavilion.
Not only has great progress been made on the East side artificial pitches and pavilion, but on the West side tree removal has taken place and topsoil stripping is now underway. Once the stripping has been completed, drainage has been installed and the grass has been established, three full size pitches and two mini pitches will be created.
