The January/February issue of SportsNation has now been published and can be viewed free online.

The issue includes an exclusive interview with Nigel Huddleston, in which the sports minister offers insight into some of the government’s future funding priorities. There is also a look at how MUGAs offer a flexible way to create community hubs for physical activity and a review of the SAPCA Technical Meeting, which took place in December.

SportsNation fills a void in the market and has now taken its place as the sports and physical activity industry’s leading magazine. Each issue of the magazine will focus on the delivery and management of physical activity facilities, featuring the people, places, policies and products that help to build active communities throughout the UK.

A bi-monthly publication, SportsNation will be available both in physical and digital form and digital subscription is free.

Its readership will include senior decision makers involved in all aspects of the sector – from national governing and funding bodies, sports clubs, educational institutions and local authorities, to architects, designers, consultants, contractors and suppliers. In addition to the extensive readership, SportsNation will have a high profile and level of distribution at industry exhibitions, seminars and conferences throughout the year.

SAPCA chief executive, Chris Trickey, said: “The launch of SportsNation has kicked off an important year for SAPCA, during which the association will reach a significant landmark, celebrating its 25th anniversary.

“The magazine is a key part of our revised and extended communications strategy.

“It is a very exciting opportunity for the association and I very much look forward to SportsNation becoming an essential read for anyone working or involved in the sport, physical activity and play sectors.”
