Dr Rachel Malcolm to speak at SAPCA Golf Day lunch

We are delighted to confirm that Rachel Malcolm, captain of the Scotland women’s rugby team, will be our guest speaker at the networking lunch on Wednesday 23 June.

Rachel started playing rugby in 2015, having previously played hockey, and made her Scotland debut against Spain in a World Cup Qualifier in November 2016. She captained Scotland for the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons, while also captaining Loughborough Lightning (who play in the Allianz Premier 15s) for the last four seasons.

Away from rugby Rachel is a lecturer in Applied Sport Science at Nottingham Trent University, having gained a PhD in Environmental Physiology. Rachel co-hosts the official Scottish rugby podcast, as well as the SPEN Powering Conversations series, where she interviews trailblazers in Scottish women's sport.

The lunch will take place during the SAPCA golf day at the Forest of Arden Country Club, and costs £20 + VAT to attend. Members can book places at the lunch – as well as for the group golf lesson that follows here.

Infills Update and Open Forum

Following on from the success of our last webinar on this important subject, back in February, we are now planning a follow up session at 11.00 am on Tuesday 15 June. As well as giving a further update - to include a focus on practical examples of infill mitigation measures that have been installed - there will be an open forum. To maximise discussion, this session will be held as a Zoom call, led by Dr Kathryn Severn and with a contribution from Alastair Cox - both members of SAPCA's Technical Committee.

All interested members are invited to participate. Please register in advance, here.

Members' Area of the SAPCA Website

Image of coming soon

We are close to completing the new Members' Area of the website. This will be the place to go to access online resources, to find out details of future events and activities and to make bookings to attend. We are also planning other features, such as a forum to facilitate and promote communication and networking within the SAPCA community. Each member company will also have their own individual "account" within the Members' Area, where they can access information specific to them.

Everyone that works for a SAPCA member will have individual access to the Members' Area using a username (their email address) and a password (which will be personalised). We want to ensure that all members have access, and to do that we would like each member company to nominate an individual who will be their Key Contact - a sort of "gatekeeper" - in relation to the SAPCA website. This person will be responsible for making changes to their Member Profile and providing (and updating) the full list of other individuals that are within our database, and who will be given access to the Members' Area.

If you have not already done so, please would you provide the name and email address of the person that you would like to be the Key Contact for your access to the SAPCA website. This should be sent to Ian Beswick at ian@sapca.org.uk by 31 May 2021.
