John McLuckie

John has been working in the sports industry for over a decade since graduating with a BEng in Sports Engineering, combining engineering expertise with a passion for innovation. As Head of Innovation & Development at Sports Labs, he leads research and product development across a range of sports technologies. John works closely with various governing bodies, including FIFA, World Rugby, FIH, and FIBA, on projects that advance testing standards and technological development. He has played a key role in initiatives such as the Field Marshal test device and FIFA’s Offside Technology Quality Programme and is currently leading a major study with The Football Foundation exploring sustainable alternatives to SBR in synthetic surfaces.
