Sam Grimmett Batt

UKCF brings together the 47 community foundations which cover every postcode in the UK. In addition to overseeing UKCF's insight work, Sam leads on strategic, large-scale collaborations that take a place-based approach to addressing the needs, strengths and priorities of communities through community foundations while benefitting from national co-ordination, insight and influence of UKCF.

With two decades of experience in philanthropy, charity, and social change, Sam has led large-scale national collaborations with funders including the National Lottery, Children in Need and Comic relief. Sam developed Free to Play UK, a £9.3 million initiative bringing together 20 places to create the conditions for more adventurous outdoor play through local funding, action, learning and systems change.
